History has it that afternoon tea was started in the mid-1800s by the Duchess of Bedford, and we thought how can we pack three centuries of teatime wisdom into one Extravagant Afternoon Tea Hamper, by way of teas, cakes, biscuits and preserves.
Starting with tea, it was difficult to choose which of our exceptional teas to include, but in the end, we selected the light and refreshing Afternoon Black Tea, a rich and deep Assam Royal Black Tea, a reviving and uplifting Darjeeling, and a delicate and alluring Jasmine Green Tea.
Then to the delicious things to eat. Four scone-ready spreads by way of a Blackcurrant & Rosemary Jam, a Strawberry & Mint Jam, a Zesty Lemon Curd and a classic Orange Marmalade that will remind you of what marmalade should taste like.
Off course, no afternoon tea is complete without biscuits and cake, so we've packed in some Strawberries & Cream Biscuits alongside some Lemon Butter Shortbread, and a luxurious Date & Walnut Fruitcake. And for savoury delights, there's some a decadent Duck Rillette with Cranberries and Grand Marnier that pairs perfectly with the Sourdough Crispbread selection.
If you still have room left after all this, there is a box of soft salt caramel truffle hand-dipped in dark chocolate and rolled in pressed cocoa powder. Along with a delicately balanced Espresso Ground Coffee and a sumptuous smooth Milk Hot Chocolate.
The Extravagant Afternoon Tea Hamper comes beautifully presented in a gorgeous hand-woven 16-inch wicker basket.
